dell vostro 3700 cpu upgrade

Question

I have an old but very good vostro 3700 with i5 cpu and geforce 330m gpu. I have already upgrade the bios at A12 version . Now I thought upgrade the cpu with an I7 740 qm, is fully supported? I risk of encountrig problem?

Sorry but the i7-740QM is very limited to the systems it will work in and yours is not one of them.

Thx for your quick reply. I have the i5 430m on my notebook. Which is the maximum cpu I can install? Sorry but I'm not an expert. I have read this post and if I have understood it the i7 740qm is good.

I'm also own two Vostro 3700s which I bought from Dell with the same specs as you had described. I agree they are great laptops. I was researching for data in regards to their upgradability, I ran across your post. I was just wondering if you were able to perform the CPU upgrade? I'd sure appreciate any input in this regard.
