DELL Vostro 5590 and Docking station compability
Hi, I'm planning to buy Vostro 5590. I need docking station for this laptop (I want to run 2 HD monitors, Gigabit Ethernet and charge my laptop with one cable - and some USB - one 3.0 and 2-3 2.0 with hub). What Dell docking station will be comparible with this setup (I can connect my monitors with HDMI and VGA)? Is Vostro 5590 capable of being charged via USB-C port?

@gunnersson The Setup and Specifications document for the Vostro 5590, available on support.dell.com (direct link here) indicates that the USB-C port supports DisplayPort (video output, which can be converted to other types by a dock) and Power Delivery. The latter is a bit ambiguous since USB Power Delivery can technically be provided in either direction, so it doesn't necessarily mean that the system supports charging itself via USB PD as opposed to just providing USB PD power levels to attached peripherals. It's unfortunate that Dell uses ambiguous wording here. But assuming it does support charging, which to me seems likely, the specs also indicate that it comes with either a 45W or 65W source. Therefore if you only want to run dual HD displays, the Dell WD19 dock would suit your purposes. You can use the regular WD19 130W version w/ 90W passthrough; no need for the WD19 180W version w/ 130W passthrough since even 90W is more than you'll need. The WD19 doesn't offer native VGA outputs, but a DisplayPort to VGA adapter would fill that need. Does that display really not offer any inputs other than VGA, though? The reason I ask is that VGA is the only signal type that is analog, whereas everything else is digital, and consequently VGA will look noticeably worse than ANY other option that might be available. If the display you're planning to connect over VGA happens to have a DVI input, then I would instead get a DisplayPort to DVI cable (or DisplayPort to DVI adapter plus a regular DVI cable), since you'll get somewhat better image quality that way.

I've been researching who else have bought a Vostro 5590 or similar series and perhaps tried out the WD19, to check if it works because of the lack of confirmation on the WD19 series documentation which does not talk about Vostro compatibility at the time of writing.
The reason we ask these questions is because we don't have the money to "test if it works". I then proceeded with an online support chat, and the agent did indicate exactly as the response by @jphughan in that the USB-C of the 5590 supports Power-Delivery that inherently means it "should" support WD19 series. I did however pushed for an answer and they then said "Yes, the Vostro 5590 will work with the WD19."
I purchased the WD19, making sure the BIOS/Drivers/Win10 is updated and connected the WD19.
From my side I can report... All.Is.Well.
