enable pxe boot on Vostro 7500
I'm trying to enable pxe boot on newly bought Vostro 7500 as I need to re-install the OS via MDT and want to set the laptop boot mode to PXE. But, when I go into BIOS Setup (F12) it shows me "Boot Configuration" option on the left pane, but when I go into the Boot Configuration there is no option to change boot order instead it just lists "Windows Boot Manager" and "UEFI Hard Drive" options and there is no way I can go into those and change the boot order within those. Can anyone please tell me how to do this on BIOS setup. thanks.

Not sure why people say PXE boot cannot be done on Dell Vostro. I found the issue and the laptop wasn't connected to LAN using ethernet (just was on Wi-Fi). When I connect using the cable NIC IP4 and NIC IP6 options appeared on the boot sequence and selecting NIC IP4 straightaway went on to PXE boot and discovered the MDT server on the network and loaded the image. happy days!

You can't, if there's no option for it. The PXE boot is generally a feature of Latitude systems. Vostros are Inspirons painted a different color - they're "small business" systems that are really just rebadged, cosmetically altered consumer notebooks. They're not designed for central management.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. So, that means Vostro's can't have any form of network boot options?

For Vostro 7510 (without an RJ45 port), I found that you need to set the UEFI network stack to "Enabled" in BIOS. This is under Connection > Enable UEFI Network Stack for me. You can then select a USB to RJ45 NIC in boot options.

Not sure what model is being discussed but the Vostro 7510's i7 do not have the option in the boot sequence after pressing F12 and getting into the BIOS Setup. Windows Boot Manager and 1TB NVMe are the only options available on the laptop I'm messing around with. Yes, we all can plug a usb/ether or usbc/ether into the laptops and connect to the LAN once Windows has booted and be hardwired but I personally am trying to pxe boot multiple systems at one time and at the moment that doesn't seem like an option. Anyone have a solution? No offense but the "Community Accepted Solution" isn't a solution at all.

Now that's a solution! Cheers!
