Migrate Data to new SSD
Hi. I have a Vostro 5471 with a 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. The SSD is the main boot drive with windows. The 128GB SSD is really small and can barely hold all of my programs. I'm looking to buy a Samsung SSD with more storage. But, windows is installed on the 128GB SSD and it'll be a pain to reinstall everything. I'm also afraid that the product key might not transfer. I heard it is in the bios, but I I also heard that it'll deactive if it detects multiple hardware changes. I've already upgraded the RAM? If I upgrade the SSD, will windows deactivate? Is there an easy way to migrate almost everything to a new SSD. My Vostro only has 1 m.2 slot so I can't hook them both up and clone the drive. Is it possible to put all the contents of the 1TB HDD and move that to the new m.2 drive? I want the new SSD to also be the boot drive.

Clone the the SSD using cloning software.
My PNY SSD came with a license for Acronis True Image.
There are freeware cloning software too.
Make sure you have easy access to the old SSD.
