MKS14b Dock & Vostro 7500
For general information I have been able to get the MKS14b docking station to work with a Vostro 7500 using the USB 3.2 Type-A connector to connect to the MKS14b.
I did not use the DisplayLink software as that caused periodic freezing of the monitor display (P2214H). Instead I used the built in Windows 10 Projection settings to extend my screen to the monitor connected to the dock.
I am supplying the Vostro with the 90W power supply cable from the docking station by using a 7.4x5.0 to 4.5x2.9mm adapter. I confirmed in the BIOS that the power supplied is 90W.
I am posting this as when I had the problem with the latest version of the DisplayLink software Dell tech support advised that the MKS14b was several years old and not supported when used with the Vostro. I uninstalled the DisplayLink Software and on a hunch tried connecting to the dock and using the Windows 10 Projection software and found everything worked fine. I have been using the set-up above for over 1 week at both my office and home (I have two MKS14b docks and P2214H monitors).
