New SSD and problem with installation Win 10 - Vostro 7570
Hello,
i've bought a new SSD and trying to install a Win10 on it.
Created USB with MS Windows USB Download Tool and installed a clean windows.
It works, but when you look closely it seems that something is really wrong...;)
I have two disks: HDD WDC 1TB and SSD PNY M2 NVME.
System is installed on SSD, but if you see the BIOS settings, it still point on HDD as a booting device. Both are GPT.
I cannot change the path to the SSD - there is no proper string under BIOS.
Could you help me to do this in simple steps?
I prepared some screenshots to put some light on my configuration.
1. under BIOS both disks are visible:
Both disks are visible under BIOS
2. The path in the boot sequence leads to the HDD (WDC)Path to in the boot sequence leads to HDD
3. Structure of storage devices under Win 10

Disk 0 is the HDD and DISK 1 is the new SSD.

I would remove the HDD and try the Windows 10 install again.

You do need to remove the original boot device before reinstalling Windows to the SSD.
The boot loader is currently on the hard drive - reinstalling it to the SSD in the absence of the drive will correct that. Once you have Windows up and running on the SSD, you can reconnect the hard drive.

i wouldn't assume the proper patch to boot from SSD will appear then in the BIOS... or maybe i am wrong?

@ejn63 thx, is that possible without unscrewing the chassis? for example by turning it out in BIOS etc?

The drive needs to be disconnected from the system board.

ok, I disconnected the hd.
Now i tried to clean install of Win 10 using USB.
Unfortunately i have a message "we couldn't make new partition or find existing one. blah blah blah" - please note i am translating to english from my language. One of the options is "load a driver" but i have no driver to my SSD...

your pic is not showing at the moment.
I suggest you go here, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28992/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-User-Interface-and-Driver and download the f6flpy-x64zip file (this is for 64 bit windows).
unzip/expand the file to a folder then put that folder onto the root of your usb windows install media.
restart the install and when you see load driver option, point to the folder you've added to your usb drive.
good luck

The solution was to remove all partitions on SSD and create new. After that win10 installer began to work properly.
After the installation in BIOS there is proper boot path, so that was the solution.
Thank you @nyc10036 @ejn63
