Repair
It's Dell Vostro 1014, and it works kind of fine until its plugged off but instantly shuts down if not plugged in (similar to how PCs go out with power outage).
I am not sure how old it is (received by a relative in used condition). It has Dell battery but a non-Dell power adapter. Also the 'power adapter cannot be determined' issue shows up at the boot.
Internal speakers, which i guess I damaged by playing loud distorted sound for long duration of time, for i received the laptop with a working internal speaker.
The lower case, and display cover (the front one), both of which feels like plastic are kind of broken and I want to replace them.
Also, it is working in ATA SATA configuration rather than the default AHCI (whenever in AHCI mode it crashes during my Windows 7 Home Basic Boot)
So what to buy/fix to bring this back to normal working condition?
P.S. I have minimum tools and know-how of opening up of laptop and I am confident with doing replacements (i cannot solder though).

The failure to recognize the adapter is usually caused by either a faulty adapter or a bad DC jack. One or the other would need to be replaced; figure on $30 for an adapter and $20 for a jack.
The plastic parts of the case are inexpensive -- maybe $50 for both -- but the labor involved to replace them is not insignificant in terms of your time (or worse, paying a shop for a couple of hours of work).
If you have to replace the case parts plus the adapter and jack, you're up to $100 -- and that's without the labor. It's about twice what the entire system is worth as well; only you can decided whether the system is worth the cost of repair. You can likely buy a complete used system several years newer than the one you have for less than it will cost to repair this one -- and since Windows 7 is obsolete, the newer system will run Windows 10, which is in-support and therefore secure for use online.

But why does it crash when it is in AHCI SATA configuration?
Also it crashes when connected to a Bluetooth speaker.........
Solution?
