Replacement battery

Question

So i recently purchased a new battery for my old vostro 14 as the old battery had died,

Old battery: XCMRD 14.8v 40Wh

New battery: MR90Y 11.1v 65Wh

I bought this new battery at a dell exclusive store (not an authorized service ).... despite my doubts the sales person said the new battery would work fine.

Please confirm if it this is fine or if it is safe to use this new battery in my laptop

So it fits alright but I haven't turned it on yet dont want to mess up the situation any further

Does it fit? Does the BIOS recognize it?

The two part numbers seems to be used interchangeably.

11.1 V battery used in place of a 14.8 V battery won't hurt the laptop

Looking on eBay, there looks to be the genuine XCMRD batteries being sold by reputable dealers.
