Ssd vostro 5471 upgrade

Question

Hi cn someone please help.

I have a Dell vostro 5471 8th gen I5 and I want to upgrade it with an ssd but I'm confused as to the compatability.

I know the form factor is 2280 but what key does it support?

Does it support 3d nand sata with b/m key?

Does it support m key nvme gen3?

Will it support nvme with b/m key?

Will it support both?

It will take either M.2 SATA or M.2 NVMe. Whatever internal flash chip technology the drive uses is up to the drive's own controller -- the external interface is what matters.

Do note that this model supports GT2 power saving mode only - not high performance mode, so you'll see about half the speed a PCIe 3 X4 drive is capable of delivering with this model system.

Thank you. Much appreciated. So it'd still be better to fit in a nvme ssd over a m. 2 sata ssd right? Price difference e between the two is only around 15-20 dollars
