Touchpad lag - Dell Vostro 15 3530

My Dell Vostro 15 3530 laptop's touchpad is laggy, especially under heavier loads. 

If I restart my laptop and the system is idle the touchpad seems okay or at least acceptable, but often it lags pretty badly. Still less than 1 second, but even that can feel huge. An external USB mouse in comparison is night and day, the external mouse is instant with no delay.

This is to the extent that I feel forced to use an external mouse much of the time. I wouldn't want to buy a dell laptop in the future if this is normal and intended behavior for this device model.

The current driver for the touchpad seems to be "HID-compatible mouse", using system32\drivers\mouclass.sys and system32\drivers\mouhid.sys, version 10.0.22621.1, winbuild 160101.0800 . I can't find any other compatible driver on the dell support site, and windows update doesn't show anything either.

My OS is Win11 Enterprise, build 22621.2715 , Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22677.1000.0

Is there any solution for this problem?
