Touchpad unresponsive
In the past few weeks I've noticed that my trackpad will stop responding, seemingly at random. The first time this happened, I checked the drivers and could not located an obvious listing for the trackpad. But an overall update of all drivers/security updates waiting in the Windows queue resolved the issue. Today however the same thing happened again, and while it didn't last as long as the first instance, all drivers now seem up to date. Has anyone experienced this?
A few clarifying notes:
- an external mouse works fine even when the trackpad is unresponsive, so it seems like a specific driver issue
- the computer is not frozen when the mouse stops responding, I can alt+tab around and use the keyboard at will

Touchpad drivers are mouse drivers. Windows supplies them automatically at boot. Check your mouse settings. The touchpad can be set to turn off when typing so heavy handed typists don't get interference. Make sure that is not selected on your laptop.

In the search bar on the bottom-left of the screen, type "advanced startup" and click Change advanced startup options. Under Advanced Startup, select Restart Now. Find the Internal Pointing Devicesetting. You can find it in your advanced settings.
