touchpad vostro vs latitude

Hi,

I've been using a latitude laptop for some time and I've found it really good.

Now I'm thinking about getting a second hand vostro 5590. I saw the touchpad is different. How is the vostro's touchpad? I mean, is it "erratic", do you have to press throroughly to click? Latitude experience was amazing for me. But latitude is more expensive.

And also... I still have a lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370. Horrible, terrible experience, lenovo never again. the touchpad is erractic depite many many drivers and systems (w8, w10). Visually, the lenovo's touchpad looks like the vostro's. With the lenovo I have to click and I ear the "click", but sometimes it doesn't work, or I can't maintain the click... Awful. Really. Horror movie. Lenovo Never never never again.

So is it the kind of touchpad we should expect with a dell vostro 5590?

Thanks a lot!

Vostros are simply Inspirons with a different paint color - they're built-to-a-price, low end systems with low end components.  Don't expect Latitude level touchpad response/features from an Insprion/Vostro.

Your best bet is to try the touchpad in a showroom model - Inspirons are quite widely sold.  It may well be the appearance of the touchpad in the Yoga and Insprion is quite similar - the parts may in fact be identical.  There aren't that many manufacturers of touchpads, and the price pressure on economy models is immense.

thanks.

Living in France, dell laptops mostly available from their website only. If someone has a personal experience about it...
