Vostro 1320 CPU upgrade

Question

Hello,

I have a Dell Vostro 1320 with Intel Core 2 Duo - 2.4Ghz and I got a Inter Core i5-M560 from other damaged computer (but the processor is still working).

I want to know if the Vostro will work if I install the Core i5 processor in it? it is compatible?

Hey @U2CAMEB4ME,

Well, I'm thinking to use that computer to run Kubuntu or MX Linux 64b and Virtualize WinXP or Win7 for some old Adobe PS software I still use.

Do you think if I install that Core i5 it may run better than the Core 2 Duo? or better to stick with the old Core 2 Duo?

I see, it won't fit at all. Yeah, I'll have to stick with the Core 2 Duo for that computer and keep the Core i5 for a better opportunity.  Thank you for your time instructing me
