VOSTRO 1510 RAM UPGRADE

The best upgrade for your model is to replace it with a new or newer computer. Your model is 11 yrs old now and probably running an obsolete insecure version of windows like windows 7, XP or Vista. Don't waste money on any upgrades. 

Just for games. Not for networking. Help me

Two DDR2 2GB=4GB DDR2 should be max.

But 2x4GB=8GB DDR2 6400 could work???

What CPU do you have installed???

My laptop has stock CPU INTEL CORE 2 DUO T5670 P SOCKET, ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR UPGRADING CPU.

SURELY I WILL UPGRADE TO SSD, 

BUT CPU AND RAM I NEED ADVICE AND SUGGESTIONS.

Also, is my laptop configuration ok for WINDOWS 10.

MaryG's comment about wasting money is very valid.

I had a Vostro 1510 that I gave away to a friend.

Except for replacing the HDD with a SSD, I would not be spending any money on more RAM or a CPU upgrade.

It is your money. Spend it wisely.

I can't answer for the 1510 specifically, but I recently upgraded a 12 year old 1540 to 8GB Ram, SSD and Windows 10 with no issues (apart from all the Windows 10 Bloatware).

The product activation for Windows 7 will carry over to Windows 10 without additional cost.

Websites for Memory companies like Crucial and Kingston will identify the correct RAM.

I have a 1510 running Windows 10 on 4Gbyte RAM and a 300Gb SSD and it boots in about 20 seconds. I think I'll upgrade to either 8Gb or 16Gb RAM.
