VOSTRO 5471, RAM upgrade
Hi,
Can anyone help me on this?
I have Vostro 5471 Laptop with 4GB RAM. Due to low performance I am planning to add 8GB RAM in another slot.
Will it be fine adding different size or I must go for same 4GB RAM?

Welcome to the Dell Community @Jeevha
Your manual does not specify 12GB as an option but it should be fine!!!
https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/04/vostro-14-5471-laptop/vostro_5471_om_pub/memory?guid=guid-715e6b06-60fd-4e44-9449-a241ab64a89f&lang=en-us
Of course everyone would suggest purchasing matching pairs to take advantage of "Dual Memory"
But I have found that with mismatched size memory the BIOS still says "Dual Interleaved" ???
Something I should research in the future???
Best regards,

I also added memory to my laptop, it's easy to see here, I took pictures of the whole process.
