Vostro 5481 - Windows 11 take an hour to get to login screen
Hi, I have this frustrating problem after upgrading to Windows 11 (via Windows 11 Upgrade Assistant). After boot up or screen lock, it takes me about an hour to able to input my PIN to login or unlock my notebook. I can not use Ctrl Alt Del or enter Task Manager by any means (note that I was not logged on if the PC just booted up). I have tried to reinstall Windows 11 via Reset PC (keep personal files) but the problem won't go away.
Does anybody have the same problem? How do you fix it? I really don't want to go back to Windows 10.
Thanks,
Dat.

Same here @natalia760 . When I opened a case with Dell Support, they said that Windows 11 was pretty unstable and suggested a downgrade to Windows 10.

I downgrade to Windows 10 and now everything is fine. My computer works as before. When you install Windows 11 I think you have like 7-10 days to turn back to Windows 10 (that's important).

I've found the solution at techcommunity.microsoft.com. It works fine. The key is to change the driver of the "Integrated Sensor Solution" to the official Dell driver, from that one, that was automatically picked up during the Windows 11 installation.
"I fixed the issue by :-
Forcing the laptop into the recovery menu (pressing the power button to turn on, then immediately holding the power button until it turned off again multiple times over)
Booted to Safe Mode.
As the Start menu does not respond to the mouse/keyboard - Press Ctrl-Alt-Del and select Task Manager from the popup
Select File-Run new task and type devmgmt.msc - I cannot recall if the check box for [ ] Create this task with administrative privileges was available in safe mode but if it is there, check it
Expand System Devices
Scroll down and DISABLE "Intel Integrated Sensor Solution"
Reboot
The laptop should function normally now.
(If you have done a clean install of Windows 11, you will now need to go to the Dell Support web site for your model and download the Intel Integrated Sensor Hub Driver and install it. )
Open Device Manager again
Expand System Devices
Scroll down and UPDATE DRIVERS for "Intel Integrated Sensor Solution"
Select -> Browse my computer for drivers
Select -> Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
The list showed two drivers for "compatible hardware" with the currently selected one being the incompatible "Intel(R) Integrated Sensor Solution"
Select the "Intel(R) Integrated Sensor Hub - 9DFC" driver (yours may have a different alphanumeric extension)
Apply the change
Reboot"

It works for my Vostro 5481. Updated using DELL Command|Update app to the current BIOS and so on.
Windows 10 system was upgraded using downloaded W11 .iso file from MS site.
Disabled "system device" called Intel _Integrated Sensor Solution_ and then set registry records as descibed in https://thegeekpage.com/automatically-updating-specific-drivers/. It works even after last "update tuesday" :-).
At this time DELL, Intel or MS have probably no solution for this. DELL support recommends to me to stay with W10 or wait for "stable" W11 release.

Worked for me on Vostro 5581 and later added list of device ids to prevent re-install using gpedit.msc.

Don't need to disable entire Intel Sensor Solution hub, the problem device is HID Sensor Collection V2 with Device instance path: HID\VID_8087&PID_0AC2\6&2401EE79&0&0000. I think on the different laptops it's can be different path, so disable all of five HID Sensor Collection V2's. They don't enable after system restart, but possible after drivers update. Or, if you don't want to wait login screen, reboot in to Safe mode (take BitLocker recovery keys for your device from you MS account before if you have encrypted device) and use option 4 to enter in to Safe mode. Then use Device Manager->Sensors to disable HID Sensor Collection V2 device. Regards.

If IISH (Intel Integrated Sensor Hub) is enabled in the Device Manager, right click it, go to Driver- Update Driver. What drivers are shown as compatible? If it shows multiple drivers, can you test them all?

Hello all
I downloaded the driver version 10.1.15.2 from https://driverpack.io/en-us/hwids/PCI%5CVEN_8086%26DEV_9DFC?os=windows-10-x64 and with this drive my dell vostro 5481 notebook is normally operating .

I have the exact same issue with a Vostro 5581.
I have tried to install the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution driver from dell but I still only see one option in the compatible drivers list. Same as Martynez. Disabling it only seemed like a temporary solution. The issue is back after a while.
I did a downgrade to Win10 but it was automatically upgrade to Win11 again...
