W11 on vostro 5481 - Black screen with mouse cursor

I'm having a issue to upgrade/clean install W11 on my Vostro 5481.

Clean install or upgrade from W10, the problem is the same: Black screen with cursor on login screen. Can't do any action, it's just "stuck".

Already tried to disable all MS services and apps, and the graphics drivers as well, but the problem persists.

Only works on the "first" boot. After the drivers complete installing, the bug appears.

W8ing Dell support pronunciation about this issue.

I think I got a clue,
I installed clean windows 11,
I did not establish an internet connection and did not install windows update.

I installed the drivers manually from the dell site, (I only downloaded the drivers for the video cards from their site, which is compatible with windows 11)

The problem starts when I install the Intel Integrated Sensor Hub Driver for hardware ID pci/ven_8086&dev_9dfc&subsys_08a71028&rev_30.

Most likely the problem will be fixed when the driver set is updated.

Before I came to this conclusion, I had the same problem in the scenario where I installed the drivers directly via windows update (Intel Sensor Hub) with windows update turned on.

For those who still have this problem.

Go to safe mode, if you don't know how to do it, force reboot in the Dell logo loading screen. Once or twice should do it to force it into recovery mode. In the recovery mode find advanced mode that allow you to go to safe mode.

In the safe mode, Go to Device Manager and disable "Intel Integrated Sensor Solution". Just like that and the problem will go away.

I know it's a temporary solution, but it's either that or reverting back to windows 10.

I'm having the same problems also. Already tried many things; restart graphic driver, cannot access task manager through ctrl alt del.

Please help

just out of curiosity what happens if you turn off fast start (assuming it's there in win11) in power options?

This web page has a number of suggestions. Also you could try downloading the media creation tool for Windows 11 here  (it is the second choice) and try a clean install or update install with the installation USB. I realize you mentioned clean install but did not state where you downloaded the installation file from.

Already tried that as well. Nothing happens.

It happens also with USB installation created with Media Creation Tool. Note that the PC is stuck at the black screen with cursor for an hour and then it loads the Windows login screen and everything works well... until you turn off the computer. It happens everytime.

As the system is not starting up in the Normal mode you will need to start the system in safe mode and follow the further steps.

Switch ON the system and switch OFF the system 3 to 4 times when the Dell logo appears. This will make the system to go into ‘Windows 8 Advanced Startup Options’ screen. Please select Troubleshoot option and choose the Advanced Options and then choose the Windows Startup Settings option, finally hit the Restart button. When your PC reboots you will be able to boot into Safe Mode with Networking from the familiar looking Advanced Boot Options screen.

Once the system is in Safe Mode with networking mode please refer to the link below to download, install and execute it to run malware scan tool.

After the scan finishes it should give the virus name please select the files and delete it and restart the computer to check for the issue resolution.

Also, Clear the startup and uninstall any 3rd party tool bar like the Search protect by conduit tool bar using Revo uninstaller from the link below.

Please let me know if this helps.

Adrian,
Thanks for the awnser. But that is not accurate.
I'm upgraded W10 to W11, and executed a clean install.
Should be no viruses or malware of any kind on a fresh install windows.
