Windows 11 Upgrade
I just purchased a Vostro 5410 and it came with Windows 10 Pro (Includes Windows 11 Pro License). I would like to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro but I'm being told two things by Dell reps.
1) Do NOT upgrade to Windows 11 Pro. It's not a good product and I should wait at least 6 months before I do.
2) My laptop doesn't come with the license. Even though it says it's "Included" it's really not. That's just a Microsoft thing.
Can someone please help me? The support from the two Dell employees I have spoken to has been less than helpful. I did have the option when I first set it up last week and I decided not to. Now I would like to take the 10-day test of Windows 11 but I can't!
Thanks in advance.

I totally agree with the former reply. I got my Dell End of November 2021 and while I was wondering how I would now upgrade from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro, Dell installer solved my issue and everything was automated. I simply selected to upgrade directly to Windows 11 Pro (or I could have stayed with Windows 10 Pro). There is no such thing as "I need a Windows 11 Pro license". This is a seamless transition from Windows 10 to 11, it is for free and included.
Regarding whether Windows 11 is not advised to install or not, I totally am pro Windows 11, it is better in all aspects. There were of course issues, but they were quickly fixed by Microsoft. And for me the decision was super easy, since I do not like these Win 10 tile, it is the logical option for me to go with Windows 11. And I did not regret that I did upgrade.
Windows 11 is simply more logical for me and I like the new feature and the new modern look. Plus I will never go back to Windows 10.

Windows 11 is based on Windows 10 and I find it to be very stable. Does it have some bugs, yes as did Windows 10 so the main reason to wait 6 months would be for MS to iron out some of the usual "growing pains" you find with a new OS. As for the license, If you install Windows 11 it will activate since you already had a Windows 10 license. Very similar to the way that Windows 10 activated if you had Windows 8.1. Am I sure, yes as that is how I activated Windows 11. I did it first as an update then clean installed and both times it activated just fine.
If you want to do an update install click on Start/Settings/Windows Update/Check for updates. Now if that does not bring up the Windows 11 update then you can also use this method. Go to the Windows 11 site here. Then choose either option 1, Installation Assistant which is the same as the update, or choose option 2 which is the media creation tool for Windows 11. With that tool it will create a bootable USB flash drive and you can either do a clean install or a full upgrade installation which will save your files. This MS site has more information.
