What version of code are you on? In newer releases if you rediscover the array it will ask if you want to forget unreachable luns. Selecting this should clear this up

It seems like the version you are on does not have it, therefore you will have to go through the CLI and use the “forget” flag which is described in the CLI guide

we have the actual version of  software in place (new installlation)and  have set the flag  to forget the luns, this is my problem

just confirming, when you clicked rediscover array did you check this box "Forget unreachable LUNs"?

After deleting the volume from the Storage group, you also have to remove the volume on the VPLEX . Ankur mentioned one way of removing the volume and the other way is , select the array--->show logical units---> forget Unreachable LUNs
