VPLEX Mgmt connection

Hi Team,

Happy New Year 

We have VPLEX Local which is not accessible via GUI nor SSH,But vPlex Mgmt IP is reachable via network though PING command .

As I found below EMC kb to restart vPlex mgmt. console to fix issue .

But I just wanted to make sure mode of Establishing  a connection to the management server using PuTTY.

Can some one help me if below method is correct steps to connect vPlex mgmt to Laptop to gain access and to restart service ?

Should I need to use LAN port on vPlex mgmt. Server to access via putty  from local laptop ?

Connect Laptop to LAN port on Vplex mgmt. server using Cat5/ethernet cable  and then assign IP on Laptop on same network as vPlex mgmt. IP ?

Should I need to use service port on vPlex mgmt. Server ? and then assign IP on Laptop on same network as vPlex mgmt. IP ?
