1520 Drivers issue.

I've recently bought a Dell 1520 Laptop, with XP professional installed.

I reinstalled the system when it arrived and quickly discovered I had done something foolish, and not checked the drivers CD they had sent with it......it was for Vista.

Anyway, I downloaded what I think are all the relevant drivers from the dell website and installed them onto the machine.

All seemed OK, excpet there are 3 exceptions in device manager of "Base System Devices" without any detail of what they are?????

Very puzzled by this as I've installed machines before and not had too much problem.

Any help greatly recieved.

Don't overlook the Notebook System Software that should be installed first with the Chipset drivers. It's on your download page under System Utilities. You should also contact Dell and get the right drivers disk.

hi,

can't seem to get the hyperlink to work unfortunatley.

The card reader works already, though I'm not saying that it still doesn't need it.

Any chance you can repost the link or direct me an alternative way.  Thanks for your help.

Any ideas on the other 2???

OK- thanks for the heads up Mary.  I'll take a look at it now.

I've e-mailed about the drivers disk, so all being well, it should arrive sometime soon.

I managed to find the driver suggested previously and that has irradicated all 3 of the driver exceptions.

Thanks again for the help
