4 TB External Drive not Recognized

Question

I have a new XPS 8920. I bought a WD 4TB drive that I put in an external enclosure and plugged into the USB port. The drive can't be seen in File Explorer. I opened Disk Management, and see it there, but it's only showing 1.69TB. See Below.

In researching, I was told to update my Intel Storage Driver to the latest, and reboot, and the full 4TB should be recognized. Well, going to the Dell support site, I downloaded the Intel Storage Driver for my system, but everytime I try to run it, it fails. (See Below)

What do I need to do to get this full drive to be recognized? Thanks.

:emotion-2: I'd suggest you install first the Chipset drivers in your Dell Product Support page and then try to install Intel Rapid Storage driver again.

Thank you. I went to the support website again, and the scan said I have the most recent updates for my system. So, I still can't run the Rapid Storage driver, and the system doesn't recognize the 4 TB hard drive. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I'd suggest you temporary disable Antivirus software and Firewall on the system and try to install Rapid Storage driver again. If that doesn't work, I suggest searching latest Rapid Storage driver for your system in the links below. Note: Create a restore point on system before installing any driver from website.Type Create A Restore Point onto search box.

Or....

Type Device Manager onto [Cortana] search box, stroll down to IDA ATA/ATAPI controller and then expand it. Right click driver( Rapid Storage driver),and then update it.
