8.1 Activation Code after Restore
I had to restore my PC back to factory. I now have to activate Windows 8.1 again before I can upgrade to 10. There's no sticker on my PC with the code. How can I resolve this? I've had the machine for just over a year.
Thanks,
JB

If it came with win 8.1 when new, the code is embedded in the board. You should mention the model computer and how and when you restored win 8.1. Activation is automatic after a restore. Have you gone through the Activation process? Skip entering the key and let MS search the computer for the embedded key. See if this helps--

I am not trying to upgrde to Win 10 but did a win image restore off the HD since there was major problems with it. The girl at Church asked me if I could fix it but had to do a complete restore. When do yesterday loaded some pgms and they worked and the ones that got re installed worked too. Must have shut down and booted up 6 or more times. this morning it opened up asking me for the rest of the key that ened in 5 digits and I had the entire key but when entered was told wrong one so hat gives???

As I mentioned you are wasting your time trying to install a Bing Edition of Windows 8.1...
However if you really want to get this Windows 8.1 with Bing up and running can you tell me the following.
What sticker is affixed to the system?
Also have you installed RWEverything? If so go to access → ACPI tables and let me know if you have a MSDM table. You should have the 25 digit product key there.
Also press [Windows] and [ r ] and type in msinfo32 and press [Enter]. Provide the OS Name, Version, System Manufacturer, System Model, Processor, BIOS Version Date. SMBIOS version, BIOS Mode and SecureBoot state.
