A 'real' computer mouse

Question

This is a gross and incredibly odd problem, but I left the slot where my modem was open in the back of my computer and a mouse made it into a three-story apartment!

I cannot decide whether to try to salvage it or just junk it.

Does anyone have any advice?

If the three story apartment is structurally sound, you may want to try to salvage it. You could then rent it out to a new tenent-mouse.

If it is built rather rickity, then perhaps demolishing it would be the best option. Use a soft bristle brush to loosen the debris and blow it out with air.

I appreciate the help, just not looking forward to the task.

The apartment was somewhat structurally sound, but could use some modern updates. This seems to be an idea opportunity to learn how to remodel. As to renting it out, I really hadn't planned on it. I never got a security deposit or rent from the previous tenant, not to mention the mess he left.
