A strange mouse

I have a strange mouse problem. When I log off of windows and the screen says saving your settings, my mouse becomes slow to move around, then when the box appears to log back in, my mouse is fine. When I use my computer, my mouse is always fast. My mouse uses a laser instead of a ball so I know that the slow movement can't be caused by dirty rollers. It does sound strange.

2350,
Ricky_Bennett is dead on the problem.  When you log off and Windows begins to save your settings, close applications, etc., the mouse driver is polled less frequently as Windows is very busy doing other things.  Nothing wrong, just normal shutdown activity procedures.
