Iam curious about when I actually recieved this application ABBY Fine Reader Sprint ver6.0 on my system ? I also have a Dell All In One Printer 944 (now discontinued) and perhaps when I installed the software for my printer it came bundled on the CD with the drivers etc.? Iam trying to figure out if this is a trialware application or a full install of ABBY Fine Reader Sprint ver6.0 ? Does anyone else who purchased a Dell and a Dell printer or no printer also have this software on their PC ,I was thinking of deleteing it ,however after searching the internet ,its actually not a cheap piece of software and it may be a needed application for using my printer for scanning ? Anyone with any information they can share with me reguarding this product I would be grateful for your reply !

Abby finereader is an OCR (optical character recognition) app, used to automatically correct (most) text errors caused by the scan when scanning documents. The sprint version is the one that comes bundled with scanners. It is not trialware (i.e. it can be used for unlimited time) but is a cut down version of Abby Finereader pro. However it should do all you want. You can upgrade to the full version (now v 8) if you want to, but unless you need the additional functionality I would not do so.

It is considered to be one of the best apps of its kind on the market. If you saw the result of a text document scan that has not been processed by an OCR app, you would see how much manual correction and editing they save.

I would keep it, unless you never scan documents onto your PC.

Thank you for your reply JR , I appreciate the information you provided me with ! Iam going to keep the scanner software ,I do not use the scanner feature alot ,however my hard drive is big enough that I think it would be silly to delete a program that is so expensive if you where to buy the full version . I will check out the features in the full version with the link you provided ,howevr I doubt I will need them .Again thank you and you have a happy holiday season !
