Access denied in Windows Explorer...

In Vista's Windows Explorer I am unable to access folders that display a shortcut icon. These include Local Settings, My Documents, Recent, SendTo, Start Menu and others. When I click on the folder the following error message appears:

"Location is not available. C:\Users\myname\My Documents is not accessible. Access is denied."

I'm the Administrator (and only user) on my computer.

what was your solution?
I have been able to give myself permission and do most things, but here and there I have been locked out.

although adm, and sole user, I still did not have permission to get an update of winzip. for example.

Yes, could you please share your solution to the "access denied" headache with MS Vista? It has been driving me crazy too!! Thanks, Pat
