Access Denied on Shared Documents
When I try to copy a file to the Shared Documents folder on my PC I get an error message that says that access is denied.
This happens for all users. Two are "limited" users, one is an administrator.
When I look at the properties for the Shared Documents folder, the read only check box is not checked or cleared, it is in the third state. Clearing it and clicking OK doesn't give an error, but pulling up the properties again and it hasn't cleared this either.
Looking at this folder on the command line shows it is owned by BUILTIN\Administrators and that it is read only (as shown by the attrib command).
This is on a brand new machine, the only thing I have done to the Shared Documents folder was to stop sharing this folder on the network.

An update on this. If share the Shared Documents folder on the network AND allow network users to change the files, I can write to the folder (I am doing this from the local machine as administrator).
Now, if I disallow network users to change files, then I can't write to the folder.
I shouldn't have to allow network users to change files, should I?

I was making the changes from the local machine.
My point of the last post was to say that the only way I can get access to the shared documents folder is to allow network users to access it also. If I uncheck this option I get the access denied error when I try to copy items to the folder (yes, I'm testing this on the local machine).
This is really driving me crazy. I don't know how the permissions got messed up on this folder. Like I said, this is a brand new machine and the only thing I had done to the shared documents folder was to "unshare" it on the network.
