Problem is I do not know what I 'm doing. For some reason the dell tech did it even though my problem was a PC card that was not down in the socket all the way.

Would you know if resetting the BIOS would cause all of my Acronis Boot discs not to work?

Thanks,
John

I am not familiar with Acronis, but I think Davejohn can point you into the right direction from your original posting.

What's likely is that when the BIOS was reset to factory default settings, it changed the boot sequence so that the drive you want to boot from is no longer first in the list. Multiple taps on F2 while the Dell logo displays during the boot will get you to System Setup. In the setup you'll need to find your boot sequence, and from there you can set whatever drive you need to be the first boot device (floppy, CDRom or Hard Drive), thusly re-enabling your ability to boot from the Acronis disk.

I sort of figured that out last night with some help? So I have the boot order 1 IDE CD-ROM Device, 2 Hard Disc Drive C:,
3 DiscKette Drive and 4 MBA UNDI

Now it does boot from the CD but do I have the rest of them in correct order?

Thanks,
John
