address bar does not works without .com

When Dell or Google or cnn is typed in the Internet Explorer address bar,it takes you to your destination.

 

The problen now is without adding . com (dot com) I get :The page cannot be displayed. Pages displayed only if I add .com (dot com). Please help me fix this .Thanks.

Problem solved:I upgrade from IE6 to IE7, follow advice from this link. http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install
