alien control center doesnt want to update to version 0.9.48

Hi, 

I have this issue and i don't know where else to turn for help, i have installed at the moment acc v 0.9.36 and it keeps telling me that i have an update for 0.9.48. But , every time i try to update, it shows progress bar, progress bar ends and nothing happens, notification for update is still there and no update is being made.

Problem is that the mouse that i am using, aw558, keeps resetting to default settings as the first time i plugged it in the pc, after every pc restart, since the first day i had this notification for the 0.9.48 update.

I can set up the mouse with various settings(except wheel tilt buttons, those doesnt work anymore since the troublesome update) but it resets at every pc restart. 

I uninstalled all alienware software from my pc and deleted all registry trails as i saw instructions from a page on the dell troubleshooting(don't remember exactly where, it was a month ago or so), and i installed all needed software again but with the same results. 

I would have no problem with the update not being installed, i would just wish that i will be able to use the mouse and all its buttons, as this started happening after about a month and half after i bought it, and policy in my country is that a product can be returned for free no questions asked in maximum a month after buying it, so, i cannot send it back, also on a bugget and cant just replace it right now. Also pretty sure that if i claim warranty it wouldnt solve a thing cause it doesnt seem to be a hardware problem.

Maybe if someone else happens to have had the same issue and happens to stumble to my post i would greatly appreciate it if they would share a solution.
