Almost there with Vista install! Missing hard drive.

Question

Well, after about 3 weeks of frustration and numerous hours on the phone with Dell On Call as well as hours cruising these forums I'm finally to the point where the Clean install of Vista is complete.  The upgrade repeatedly failed so I decided to go to the next step to do a clean install.  I have 3 500GB hd installed and had two of them on RAID 0 from the factory Windows XP installation.  The third drive I used as a backup drive.  When I did the clean install, Vista only recognized one of the three 500GB drives.  I downloaded and installed the NVIDIA MediaShield driver and was able to see 2 of the 3 drives and am in the process of creating one array with the two of them.  However I still can't see the 3rd drive.  Anyone have any idea how I can correct this issue?

I have the same issue. Dell mirrored my hard drives, with raid 0 on. Now my computer only shows 1 drive. When we bring both drives on line I get a disk error. I also had to go back to xp and still showing one hard drive. I am waiting for intel to come out with new drivers for their matrix for the vista. Until then I do not know if I actually have a hard drive error or if it is an intel problem. So I wait. I purchased a new xps 410 in November, Vista capable. I also found Norton Ghost 10 is incompatible with vista. Dell had to help put my system back to the xp after replacing mother board. The errors that I was receiving I don't believe had anything to do with the mother board. I believe when ever intell comes out with new drivers and microsoft comes out with the sp1 for vista (towards end of year) then we will have our systems running just fine. I hope this helps. Thanks waynegsr, I ended up doing another fresh install and initially turning off RAID, then turning it back on to get my first 2 drives striped together as I had in my original 'Vista ready' XPS 700, rather than having the second 2 drives striped together as Dell support had me do.
