Alt tab toggle results in hibernation

Every so often my computer goes into hibernation when I use the alt+tab toggle between programs/windows. It usually occurs when I’m using this function consistently (i.e. hopping between multiple windows a few times each minute). Is this something like the sticky keys function where the repeated use of tab is taking me to hibernate? Never encountered this before and it is, as you might imagine, a little frustrating... Any advice would be appreciated.
