aol freeze / crash after 1 second

Question

I have a serious problem. Every time I load aol, after 1 second it freezes / crashes, no mater what i am doing, I can never get onto the internet. The PC works fine, can do stuff while aol is crashed.

I have contacted aol 3 times and got different responses, all didn't work.

I've -

Defragged hard drive

Uninstalled and reinstalled aol 5 times

Viruses scan

Ad ware scan

Check hard drive for errors

Tried in safe mode

Uninstalled all firewalls

No mater what, it will always freeze.

But the last time I contacted them; they said the only thing left is that it could be a computer problem.

Got -

aol 9.0

Dell dimension 4700

576 kbps broadband

Any help would be aprecheated

Download the free version of Netzero, and see if that works.

I cannot offer any other solutions, except back up all your files(pictures, music, documents, stuff that you cannot replace),(burn to CD's) and do a clean install of the OS, if possible. (You must have the reinstall CD for the OS)

there is that posobility of doing a Re-Boot of OS, but that is a last messure is if can't get it fixed.   What does Netzero do? Message Edited by Hazzer on 03-06-2005 07:20 AM

Netzero is just another internet provider. I use it when Earthlink won't work, but that has only happened once. It was a server problem.
