Audio problems with XPS 435MT after Windows 10

So i upgraded to windows 10 and was having no trouble until last weekend.  I was listening to music and all of a sudden the sound went to complete static.  I have tried updating drivers, uninstall, everything i can think of.  Anyone have an idea?  I was thinking i might need to replace the sound card as this is a 2009 machine.

I thank you for any help in advance.

bustem55,

Glad you got Windows 10 installed on this computer. You may want to search the internet for a Windows 10 drivers for the Audio card installed in your computer. If that does not work then maybe replace it.

I did as you suggested and no luck with the driver updates.   just ordered a new machine from Dell.  It was time to upgrade anyway I think although this machine still does what I need it too.  guess Ill purchase a new card down the road and see if that takes care of the issue.  On another note, I have another machine that I'm no longer using.  it is a decent machine for basic computing.  is there somewhere I could go to recycle or donate?

thanks in advance for any response.
