On my new Dell Inspiron 560 MT with Windows 7,I've tried to perform Windows Backup using Maxwell DVD+R discs[16x speed]-with the 1st disc the backup process 'stuck' at 47% and with 2nd disc it 'stuck' at 33%. One disc can record 120 min video 4.7GB data.
Can anyone help me what I ought to do?
Can the DVD+R discs compatible or useable?

Most drives are compatible but it is not unheard of. I suggest taking a look at the documentation from manufacturer of your drive. Just do a google search and you should find something. If your not sure what it is you can go to the support.dell.com website and put in your service code and take a look at your system specifications as it will be listed there. It is also not uncommon for drives to perform with better results with certain disc types. Even certain manufacturer's disc's work better on certain makes of drives. Something else to try is burning at a slower speed, which certain burns require. If you have the access to try the drive in another computer that would not be a bad idea to try. If the other computer provides the same results it could suggest an issue with the drive.
Thanks for your reply! Checked the specs-the drive is SAT DVD +/- RW Drive including Roxio Burn software Item No. 429-14891 but no info on what discs work best with it. [I've got only one desktop PC] My Google was not friutful. Any fresh input,please?!

You can get errors because a dvd doesn't have enough room for large backups. You really need an external hard drive to back up properly. Today's hard drives are just too big to use cd's or dvd's. Buy an external hard drive that connects via USB. They are fairly inexpensive and work well. You can use the dvd's for just copying your personal files to dvd, but skip Windows Backup until you have the external drive.
