Determine the make and model of not your video card and driver using Belarc Advisor but all you components for furture refernce, then compare that list to the ones currently offerd by the manufacturer.

If you have the most current one and still have problems, try using the previous version.  Not saying this is the problem, but is a good place to start since most people have Windows Updates to sinall everything under the sun instead of being selective.

Either the connector for the screen has worked loose from the main board or the screen is gone.  Nothing to do but replace it.

If you have a monitor try plugging that in, if the same thing happens on the monitor your video card is probably fried, if it doesn't happen then follow JM's advise.
