Black screen with blinking cursor...

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 30 Stepping 5
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 8151 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 5450, 1024 Mb
Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0T568R

Brand new hard drive (Seagate), reinstalled Windows off factory disk, everything was working great...

Then I restarted. Now just got a blank screen with blinking cursor in upper left corner.

All the posts I've read on this seem to be about hard drives that have been in use for awhile. I just got mine TODAY.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply! I unplugged all my peripherals at that seemed to solve the problem. Windows has run fine ever since.
