can not get sims 2 to load

I can not get sims 2 to load. This is a brand new computer, so I don't see what the problem could be. If anyone could help, please help. I can load all the way to disc 3. Also I tried to delete what I did install on my harddrive and it wont let me. I need help. thanks.
