Cannot access Control Panel due to Admin.......

Question

I have had Control Panel issue, everytime I tried to click on it and the restriction pop up window is: 'This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system adminstrator'. Therefore I could Not access to Control Panel. Even though I've logged on as Administrator and got into Gpedit and set to Not Configure (Disabled) but it didn't work, I also tried it in Safe Mode. I also tried to system restore but somehow this feature not working either, it couldn't restore back to any previous restore point. I'm the one who's using this laptop. This issue also prevent me from viewing Adjust Date/Time on Taskbar and I coudn't click on Add/Remove Program, View System Information under My Computer. All of these problems has giving me that same error due to restrictions. I really need help, I've been trying it for a whole week now. Does anyone know, please help. Thanks all. takecare, tu

Try Start>Run>appwiz.cpl

Does it open now?

Try resetting your web settings,Internet options>programs tab>click the reset web settings button

This could be a registry issue.

Also could be a virus issue,have you run any scans.

Run your AV and avg anti spyware in safe mode.

Hi Tom, thank for the tips, but it didn't work. I used Symantec Antivirus but it showed no virus found. Takecare. Is there any solution?

You mention 'Gpedit' which I believe is for xp pro.   You said you tried safe mode and system restore,but,did you try system restore in safe mode?   Tom
