Cannot download/install Macromedia Flashplayer 7
I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop running WinME and have recently installed a new 40GB HDD, "Ghosted" from my old and working, but full original10GB HDD.
I also have installed that German fan program that monitors temp and controls the fans.
When I surf the Internet I am constantly asked at numerous sites if I want to install Macromedia FlashPlayer 7.0.
When I answer YES and initiate the download, my computer freezes/locks up (though I still have the mouse), with the fans stepping up and running at high speed with temp at 57C. (possibly going higher because the computer IS locked up?) I must do a hard shutdown even with the mouse cursor moving!
As far as I can tell, this Macromedia Flash Player7.0 installation lock up is my only problem since my HDD upgrade.
I know I *HAD* a Macromedia Flash Player installed PRIOR to HDD upgrade. I`m not sure whether or not it was 7.0
Anybody here have any ideas as to what may be my problem and it`s solution?
thanks,
Matt

I had the exact same problem also after ghosting my files to a new hard drive, upgrading to Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron 7000. I had also downloaded the Flash 7 prior to the hard drive replacement and Windows XP upgrade. I'd go to the Macromedia site and attempt to download the Flash 7 software and the download would get halfway through and then stop. After several attempts I tried a site outside of the Macromedia site and was able to pull in the program. Here's the prompt of the site I went to:

Good Luck,
