Cannot start Windows XP, nor Safe mode

I have a Dimension 41   using Windows XP Home Edition.  Recently, when I tried to restart it, it would not boot to Windows.  I starts to show the Windows XP logo, then recycles to restart, by going back to the  BIOS, and the Controller BIOS, and then this cycle repeats continuously.  When I press F8, it will not start in any of the options (Safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, Last good configuration, or anything else).  When I choose do not restart from an error, the blue screen has the following error code:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0x0000005,0xF9AAAAcc,0xF9FC917c, 0xF9FC8E78)
GoBack2K.sys -Address F9AAAA33 base@ F9AA800, Date Stamp 411do443

I have been able to get to a DOS prompt and ran Scandisk, Chkdsk /p and Norton Antivus Norton Disk Coctor which which no errors. I cannot run WinDoctor from DOS

I cannot get to the GoBack's Boot Screen to restore or revert to an earlier setup.

I can get to the Restore Console, but do not know which Command Actions to choose, such as Bootcfg, Fixboot, or something else that would help.

I do have 2 hard drives, with both having all the same programs and settings, I believe.  Last week I installed SyncToy to syncronize synchronize disks' copies of Documents and Settings.  I have not yet checked out the other secondary Slave to verify it.

I have an new controller card with it own BIOS that I was using to access both the Master and Slave.

I was thinking about swapping the 2 hard drives to determine if the older one could boot me up to windows.  If so should I then format the newer 160 GB hard drive, and then copy all the old HD ti the newer one, then swap it again to make it the Master again?

Suggestions?

I need to correct the error message slightly:

GoBack2K.sys -Address F9AAAA33 base@ F9AA800, Date Stamp 411do443

New & additional information on my problem.

I swapped the hard drives.  The problem persists, with one slight change. I can now get to GoBack, but when I go to any earlier configuration, it still fails to start Windows XP and recyles to restart over and over again.

If I hit F8 after the BIOS, then choose Disable automatic restart on system failure, I get the error:

STOP: 0x00000007B( 0x9E4595, 0xCooooo34, 0x00000000,0x00000000)

Now I presume that it has to do with GoBack or the Boot record,  Obviously it cannot be with Windows settings, since they are separate copies of the operating system on different hard drives and the OS worked fine for several days after synchronized the files between the 2 hard drives.

What now?

Raboatman,

You said you can get to recovery console. If so,  disable the goback2k.sys service. If you don't know how to do this then rename the goback2k.sys  file to goback2k.syd, exit and restart.  Get to Safe mode and uninstall GoBack software. If you can't get to safe mode, let us know, and we'll try to step you through a more complicated process to get your system back up.

Somehow the problem has been solved.

I was in the process of going to the Recovery Console with the WinXP disk in the drive and Windows started up.  It began with a change in the display size and requested that I re-activate and re-register Windows.  I have done that.  I uninstalled GoBack.  I am going to re-install it later when I am sure everyting is OK.  In the meantime, I will do a new Restore point.

I still do not know why GoBack, or whatever (since I did not get a chance to uninstall it before WinXP recovered), created my problem.

Thank you for your help.
