Can't access sites after service pack 2

I downloaded service Pack 2 onto my Inspiron 8600...now Pogo games won't load and more importantly my work site Soapnet.com won't load...both start to load and then are redirected to an error assistant page...something weird...when I go to "my computer" and click on the link to Soapnet.com from that I.E. explorer window I can access the site...thank god my boss would not be happy if that did not work...LOL...at Pogo ...when I click on the individual games they start to load but an "error on page" appears at the bottom...click on the info and it says something about "character 19" and block access...so there you have...two weird problems....I turned off the firewall...nothing...I adjusted the privacy and security ...nothing...I turned off Norton....still did not work...uggg....so got any answers.....thanx......

I had the same problem.  I installed SP2 twice and it worked for a while and then could not access websites. Do not know what the problem was.  I am running Zonealarm ( shut that down), which was recognized by SP2.  I uninstalled all extras, such as Spysweep, Spybot, Ultra Wincleaner, etc.. Still had same problem, it ran good for a while and then all of a sudden couldn't get to sites.  I finally unistalled again and am now borwsing sites for a solution and if that doesn't work will call Microsoft.  If solution is found will post.

Thanx LaPew...this is so crazy...I did a system Restore and got rid of it...I am surprised that worked....now everything works again but I am wary of not having SP2....there has to be an answer somewhere....you're the best for trying to help...this is a perplexing problem...

Afine Whine - I just checked out Support Microsoft.  I found an Atricle # 870700 in their knowledge base regarding "Troubleshooting problems accessing secure web pages".  It has you doing things that they should have done before they released SP2. Check it out, their suggestions are mind blowing,  I have better things to do than spend days trying to correct errors.  I am going to keep checking for an easier way around this.  I will not install again until the bugs are worked out.

LaPew...I solved my problem...it was a popupblocker on "My web search" toolbar....I decided to disable all the popupblockers but I forgot that one...the minute I disabled it up came the web  sites that didn't work before...I guess it over rides and is incompatible with SP2...so my suggestion to others with page loading problems is to disable anything that blocks ads then slowly reintroduce them....the popup stopper on SP2 seems sufficient...thanks again for your help...the Knowledge base page you looked up was especially helpful...you are the best....

I had the same problem, not being able to load the games in pogo.  I deleted all my cookies and temporary internet files, added pogo to the pop-up allowed sites in Pop-up blocker settings.  Everything is working fine now.  Hope this works for you!!   =)
