Can't access Web with WWW address
Running XP
I am having a problem connecting to the web. This computer has both dial up capabilities thru AOL and DSL through another vendor. Both were working fine and suddenly DSL stopped. I can not connect to the web through DSL unless I send the IPAddress and not the site name. I discovered this because Winamp kept working and they use IPAddress for stations and not www names.
Here are the results of some test I ran thru command prompt:
Ping my IPAddress = works
Ping outside IPAddress = works
Ping my ComputerName = works
Ping outside web site by name = fails
Net View my IPAddress = works
Net View my ComputerName = works
All settings that I know how to find in Network Connections match other computers that are still able to access net normally. Any ideas?
Thanks,

To help troubleshoot this problem, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.

Thanks for the quick reply. There has been a development, so before I waste your time let me try a few things. I added some graphic software and had to reboot. As soon as the computer rebooted it started doing auto updates on some other software. I tried getting onto the web and its was working. I went to get back onto the web an hour latter and it couldn't. I then rebooted and turned off all programs like spyware, virus etc. working in the background and was able to get Internet Explorer working again. This leads me to believe that something doesn't like one of the programs I'm running. If I fail to find anything I'll get back with you.
Once again thanks for now.
