Can't connect - please help

Ok, I received my new Hard Drive, WD 160GB IDE, installed the thing along with the old Seagate 80GB that was already in there. I made the WD the master and the Seagate the slave. Once that was done, I installed Windows XP Professional onto the WD HD. Of course I inserted the Resource CD and installed those, then went and installed my Small Business and the Anti-Virus software w/ firewall. The MOBO for the Dell 4600 that I own made the Master Drive "C:" and the Slave "D:" and everything is going fine.
Now it's time to connect to the internet (by the way, I'm writing from work cause I can't from home) and I go through the connection Wizard thing and nothing. I go through Cox Communications Broadband and I have a RCA Modem and a linksys switch as well. What do I do to connect? I need help and if there is any more information that you need from me, I will be happy to respond.

Please help.
