Hi,

I think Windows stores patches in 'C:\WUTEMP'
or 'C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsUpdate\wuaudnld.tmp' while waiting to install the patches.

Have a look for it there and delete it

Well, it must be hiding somewhere.

Run a system search for Office XP Service Pack 3

Or even just Service Pack 3

Be sure to include hidden files and folders in the search

I did find a folder C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 - it had sp1 and sp2 but nothing else that looked like it could be a service pack

I`ve installed Office SP3, but it is part of "Works Suite" and it is actually installed.

I ran a search for SP3 and I think I have found reference to it as

MSSP3.  This has to be it as I do not have anything else which is SP3

I found it here

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof

C\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works Shared    (Maybe yours would read "Office" here)

Have a look in these places for MSSP3

I think they might be,
Do you have an SP3 Update for anything else?

If you answered "No" to that
What to do is make a folder for them somewhere else.   In "My Documents" maybe. Give it a name you will recognise and remember where you put it.  Move the files into that folder and keep them there.  If you start getting complaints about them being missing from some other application, you can always put them back.
If they are not where they are supposed to be XP might stop trying to install them.
