can't restart Virtual PC after computer wake up from sleep mode

I can`t restart my Virtual PC (XP mode) after waking up the computer from sleep mode.

I am getting the following message instead: Windows XP Mode cound not be started because hardware-assisted virtualization is disabled.

Please enable hardware virtualization in the BIOS settings and try again. If hardeare virtualization in the BIOS settings is already enabled, you may have to disable Trusted Execution Technology (TXT) settings in BIOS or update the system BIOS. I checked the BIOS settings and it is correct. I need to power off and restart the system in order to start the XP virtual machine. Any ideas?

I have the latest BIOS installed on my Inspiron 545

Thanks!

Hi,

I too have exactly the same issue

I have Windows 7 64 bit installed and the only way I can get the virtual machine to run again is to disable then enable the virtaulization in the BIOS

I have BIOS A12 installed

Any help appreciated

Hi,

I have then downloaded the latest service pack for both the BIOS and the ATI driver.  After that I don't have any problem any more.

I have already installed both the latest BIOS (A12) and the latest Nvidia drivers from the Dell downloads

Do you think there is a service pack as well? if so can you post a link

thanks

It worked for me after I applied the AMD(ATI) driver under the advice from Dell support.

BTW, this is one of the solution that works for someone;

I have the same problem.  My bios does support virtualization, and it is turned on, but when I restart WinXP virtual, I get that error suggesting that I disable Intel Trusted Execution Technology in my bios.   The problem is that my bios does not support this feature.

This led me to think that it might be software.  Windows 7 has software settings for this function.  It is called data execution prevention, and it has become a big annoyance to me with IE 8.  To access options for this capability, go to Control Panel > System > Advanced System properties > Performance > Settings.  Under Data Execution Prevention,  option -- turn onf data execution prevention for all programs and services except those I select -- select all microsoft/windows applications.

My VM XP launches evertyime, and with great speed and autbhority.... Please pass this suggestion on to others, and I cannot reference withi helper ID anywhere on the web.
