can't start recovery console with raid 0 C drive

System is XPS with two 120MB drives running RAID 0 as one drive - system works fine - but I can't start recovery console.

If I boot recovery console from XP CD, the C drive is not seen at all.

If I select recovery console from startup menu I get a "blue screen" error - not prompted to select a drive or for admin password. (I simply reboot and system start fine.) Probably should be loading drivers for RAID 0 system when prompted for 3rd party drivers but can't find any reference to that on forums.
