Change desktop shortcut text color ?

Dudes,
I just got a beautiful picture of the Trek Madone from their website for my desktop. But the background is white and the text of the shortcuts is white with a slight gray background but hard to see. Is there any way to make the text black or a darker or different color ? OK not an earth shattering problem but just want to know !
    Thanks, Dave

hi dave, you may want to try right clicking on the desktop>then going to properties>apprearance tab>then i think you'll get advanced options there.. in the drop-down box select desktop, then you can change the text color in the text area at the bottom part... :) hope this helps!

Dude,

Thanks, nice try but no cigar. You can change the font and size but not the color. So I enlarged the font size a little and that helped.

  Thanks, Dave

Right click on Desktop and choose Properties.
Click the appearatnce tab.
Click the Advanced button.
Under Item:
Choose caption buttons or icons.

Thanks for the reply,

Neither caption buttons nor icons have the color button lit. It is greyed out . I've got XP home and yes you would think icon would do it but the color option is greyed out for both.
