CLEAN INSTALL OF WINDOWS VISTA PROBLEM
Hello All, I was having a problem with PC in that it would not boot up when i turned it on so i went through all the recovery tools options but none worked. I decided to do a clean install but got the following error message :-
'Windows cannot copy files from E:\sources to C:\SWINDOWS:~LS\Sources. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available and restart the installation Error Code: 0x80070017
Does anybody know what to do to solve this.Thanks.

Are you doing this by booting from the disk or within windows?

o.k i hope this makes sense. When i tap F12 key the boot menu comes up and states the following;-
>Hard Disk
-3rd master:ST332062OAS
>4th master:PBDS DVD +/-RW DH-16W1S
Utility Partition

Run the Dell diagnostics on the harddrive. At the Dell splash screen tap the F12 key to bring up the menu.

I get this error sometimes when i reinstall windows from a dirty/scratched disk. This is almost surely the case. Put some toothpaste on the disc, let it dry, and then rinse it off before drying it with a microfiber cloth. Trust me, even though it might look like there are few scratches, all it takes is 1 small one.
Try reinstalling a couple times.
If all this fails, try to borrow a disc from a peer and use ur own product key.
